Meet the Face Behind Blue Tree Gallery

Aimee Rowland

Aimee Rowland is an artist and gallery founder. She paints emotion using oil paint, using vulnerability as a medium to expose the deep, dark parts of everyday life; not to be brave, but because it was the only place feelings could exist without needing an explanation. She lives with MS, completed her Honours research on the way mental illness is placed and represented in specific art practices and the university of Southern Queensland, online, and built Blue Tree Gallery in the Tasmanian ferns near Cradle Mountain because of all of it. Not despite it. She works with artists and visitors who are done hiding the hard parts, because nobody should have to face their struggles alone, and nobody talks about that enough.

and nobody talks about that enough.
